Post Basic

The Post Basic in Perioperative Nursing is a 6-month full-time program designed to develop skilled, competent, and confident nurses in the field of surgical and operating room care.

This intensive program prepares registered nurses to manage preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases, ensuring patient safety and efficient surgical outcomes through evidence-based practice.

– Theory (10 weeks)
– Clinical Posting (10 weeks)
– Study + Exam (2 Weeks)
– Semester Break ( 2 Weeks)

For Malaysian Candidates
– Registered Nurse with the Malaysian Nursing Board
– Possess a Diploma/Bachelor in Nursing from a recognised institution accredited by MQA
– Possess current PC/RON for nurses from MNB before clinical placement (3.1.14)
– Possess a current Practising Certificate (PC) or Registration of Nursing (RON) from MNB
– Minimum of 24 months of clinical working experience
– At least 3 months of working experience in perioperative nursing
– Medically fit and free from physical or mental disabilities
– Not pregnant at the time of course enrollment or during the course

For international candidates / spouse of Malaysian citizen:
– Registered with the Nursing Council of the country of origin
– Possess a Diploma / Bachelor in Nursing from a recognised institution accredited by the accreditation body of the country of origin
– Possess a current TPC from MNB before clinical placement (3.1.18)
– Minimum of 24 months of clinical working experience
– At least 3 months of working experience in perioperative nursing
– Medically fit and free from physical or mental disabilities
– Not pregnant at the time of course enrollment or during the course

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
– MUET with a minimum of Band 3 as a graduation requirement
– A pass in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 5.5
– Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL):

• TOEFL Paper-Based Test (TOEFL PBT): minimum score of 453
• TOEFL Computer-Based Test (TOEFL CBT): minimum score of 133
• TOEFL Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT): minimum score of 46
• TOEFL Essentials (Online): minimum score of 8

– Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic / PTE Online): minimum score of 51
– ELS Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP Level): minimum score of 108
– Cambridge English Qualifications and Tests: minimum score of 160
