On August 29, 2024, the Law Enforcement Department organized an insightful event for 40 students and 2 lecturers, featuring visits to Makmal Forensik PDRM, Cheras (PDRM Forensic Lab), and Pusat Latihan Polis (PULAPOL). The event spanned from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing students with hands-on learning experiences in the field of forensic science and law enforcement.
At the PDRM Forensic Laboratory in Cheras, students were privileged to hear from DSP Tengku Noraihan, who delivered an informative talk. DSP Tengku Noraihan then guided the students through the Forensic Drug Investigation Lab, where they learned about the materials and advanced technology used to detect and analyze drugs, including the use of Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS). Students also gained practical knowledge in the investigation of stolen vehicles, focusing on identifying chassis and engine numbers. The visit also included in-depth exposure to the Ballistic Lab, Digital Forensic Lab, and the Crime Scene Investigation Department.
In the afternoon, the students visited PULAPOL, where they gained valuable insights into the journey of becoming a police officer, the ranking structure within the police force, and the legal framework governing police work, including the Police Act, Standing Orders of the National Police Chief, General Law, and the Criminal Procedure Code. This experience provided students with a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to become a law enforcer.
The day was packed with learning and exploration, leaving students inspired and well-prepared for their future careers in law enforcement. 👮♂️👮♀️
