National Hospitality Workers Appreciation Day

National Hospitality Workers Appreciation Day

Did you know that the word hospitality originates from the French word “hospice,” which means “taking care of travelers”? Although the origin of this special day may not be from Malaysia, we can still appreciate its meaning. It is a day dedicated to recognizing and appreciating all hospitality workers, regardless of the country of origin.

Hospitality plays a vital role in the tourism experience. Many people mistakenly equate the hospitality industry with the hotel industry, but the latter is only one branch of the former. The hospitality industry encompasses food and beverage services (restaurants, bars, catering), accommodation (hotels, motels, resorts, rentals), travel and tourism (airlines, cruises, travel agencies), and recreation (theme parks, spas, entertainment). Countless individuals within this industry dedicate their best efforts to ensure travelers and visitors receive the most memorable and enjoyable experiences possible.

Graduates from Vision University College’s Diploma in Hotel Management are working hard in the industry, showing their utmost effort to provide exceptional experiences to travelers from around the world. Many of them are serving in hotels not just across Malaysia but also overseas, contributing their skills and professionalism to renowned establishments.

On this special day, we at VUC would like to express our sincere gratitude to the hardworking personnel in the hospitality industry. Your dedication and tireless service uphold the true meaning of “hospice” — caring for travelers and creating meaningful experiences for all.
