Student Orientation

First-time distance learning students must complete the ‘ODL Student Orientation course’ before starting classes. This online orientation introduces students to our system, including the website, e-library, Vialing, and Moodle environment, and provides key strategies for succeeding as an online student.

Virtual Classroom

  • Physical presence is not required for ODL students during classes.
  • ODL students must achieve at least 20% participation in a course by the middle of the semester. Participation is
  • measured through involvement in weekly assignments and training.
  • Face-to-face learning is conducted fully online, allowing students the flexibility to study from anywhere at their convenience.
  • However, certain courses may require students to be physically present for practical training and industrial placements.

Examination

  • Examinations will be conducted either face-to-face or online, depending on the course requirements.
  • Instructors may also require students to use an online proctoring system.
  • If students are dissatisfied with their results, they can request feedback on their exam performance from the faculty.
  • Exam feedback requests must be submitted within three weeks of the release of marks, whether provisional or final.
